3D-LomTris

3D-LomTris is a faithful clone of Blockout, and a mighty fine clone at that. There are no configuration options, but the graphics are very well done. The textured golden background is relaxing and does not distract from the gameplay. While there is no grid in the well, I never had any problems telling where my block was and where it would land, a common problem with Blockout clones. The controls take some getting used to, rotation is done by Shift resp. Ctrl plus arrow keys, but that's an inevitable problem of any Blockout game too—there are just so many movement options—and this solution is better than many others.

You might of course question the wisdom of having such a game run in fullscreen mode, but let's not forget that in 1998 15" monitors and 640×480 desktops were still common.
