Yin Chi Gan Kiai Sensei
A strange name for an Othello game, but then Yin Chi Gan Kiai Sensei
is a strange Othello game. It comes with a sort of background story:
In the year 2010 the computers have gained power over
mankind. Only you can free all humanity. Beat the computer in the
decisive game of logic!
You can configure the board size from 6×6 to 16×16, but that's all
you can configure; there is only one computer adversary, and it is
rather weak. All through the game it taunts you with German phrases
and throuws a hissy fit when you finally beat it. Graphics are very
homebrew, especially the cursor that turns into an ugly face or a
slightly less ugly computer depending on whose turn it is. The umbrella
was one of the sample icon that came with IconDraw. The pieces seem to
have been designed for EGA originally, they would be circles under that
resolution.
Yin Chi Gan Kiai Sensei obviously does not take itself very seriously.
In all its oddity it can be quite fun once in a while.
