WinChess 2.50D R2

This program has nothing to do with Dave Norris' WinChess, they just happen to share the name.

This WinChess was obviously originally designed for desktops with 32k or more colors only, and it still looks better in this mode. The background, which is just black in the screenshot above, will be a gradient in a higher color depth, the board itself will look the same. There are five boards to choose from, wood and four shades of marble. This could well be the best-looking chess program ever designed for 16-bit Windows.
