Ringstones
There are, in no particular order, three things to be said about
Ringstones. First, it is beautiful, it has atmosphere. The graphics,
the music, the tribal symbols on the buttons, and the slightly mystic
elements in gameplay form a unique experience.
Second, there is a small technical flaw. The (tiny) WAV files
supposed to make the movement of the stones audible seem to be of a
specific type not easily understood by Windows 3.1 audio drivers. If
they throw an error, best disable sound from the menu.
Third, the game is anything but easy to figure out. That is not a
flaw, it is part of the concept. Basically, you have to manoeuver your
stones but not those of your opponent (which you can move as well)
into the ringed pits, where they will be transformed. Each of the
buttons at the left corresponds to one stone, but which? You have
to figure that out yourself!
