Oberon
When John Williams saw Attaxx,
he thought that due to its simple nature this concept was a fine
candidate for his first excursion into Windows programming. Though
I'm not a fan of the drag-n-drop interface, Oberon is more attractive,
it is also a lot more difficult. The easiest of its five opponents is
probably smarter than Slick Rick. Learn the ropes with Attaxx, then
continue with this one.
John Williams remained interested in Ataxx. In 1995 he wrote a
Tcl/Tk version for X-Windows, and in 1996 he started the first ever
website about the game, which unfortunately was not archived on the
Wayback Machine and is long gone.
