Kainan
There are marbles of up to four colors on the board. You have to
remove them all. The marbles will vanish when there are at least three
of the same color in a row. You can move them under rules that are fairly
intuitive: essentially you can do what you could do in real life too. In
the screenshot above, you can take the bottom left green marble and put
it in the bottom right space, pushing the bottom row one to the left. In
this case, all the marbles in the bottom half will vanish. It is one of
the beginner levels after all.
One by one, the levels become more complex and difficult. And when
you're done with all twenty levels, you can start designing your own.
They are stored in a simple format in KAINAN.STG, a simple text file.
Takashi Miura wrote a sort of sequel, Kainan2,
but it's not a puzzle game, but a Galaga-style shooter.
