BreakThru!

BreakThru! is often listed as a Tetris clone, but it's actually far closer to Same Game: Where two or more blocks of the same color touch, you can click on them, and they vanish. It does have some falling blocks, bombs, rocket and similar stuff.

BreakThru! was not shareware, but Spectrum Holobyte published a demo, which you can download here. It has only the first level, Germany (which, BTW, has the best music), but it already has all the special features that bug you only in the later levels of the full version, like spiders and coke cans. So while it's limited, it is actually more challenging right out.
