Rollo and the Brush Bros.
In 1986, Windmill Software released a demo disk with four of their
games, Conquest,
Digger, Rollo and the Brush Bros., and
Styx. These
games were at the time between two and four years old, but the demos
all bore the date 1986. They were restricted to two levels each and
did not save high scores. While the full games were all booters, the
demos ran under DOS.
Rollo and the Brush Bros. is based on the arcade machine Amidar.
The gameplay is somewhere between Pac-Man and Qix. The player character,
the red paint roll, must move along the lines and conquer rectangles by
enclosing them, at the same time avoiding the paint brushes. The pointed
green brush moves very fast and aggressive, the red brushes are slow. As
in Pac-Man, the hunted will occasionally become the hunter. In this case,
the screen changes to the other CGA palette.
