Globber 1.17
Globber comes as two seperate executables, one for CGA/EGA and
one for VGA. The former is rather bland, and I do not recommend its
use; if you want to play Ataxx on a PC without VGA, play
Slime instead. Gameplay-wise, both are
identical.
Globber has two basic modes. In enhanced mode, which is on by
default, the board size is 10×10, and up to 63 obstacles can be
chosen. If you turn enhanced mode off, the board is 7×7, and 31 is
the maximum number of obstacles. The number of obstacles are chosen
with the density option. They will be randomly placed when you start
a new game.
Globber's special feature (VGA only) is the plasma effect of the
background. It goes through all the colors of the spectrum, providing
the creepy-crawly atmosphere that has always been part of the Ataxx
tradition and is absolutely worth seeing.
