DOSMine

David Vancina's DOSMine is probably one of the smallest Minesweeper clones, but not a very good one. There is not even some routine that ensures that you start on a safe tile. The interface is okay—move cursor with the arrow keys, mark with Space and uncover with Enter—but there's a reason Minesweeper was originally a Windows game, it simply is a game for a mouse interface.

But then he wrote it, as he later commented, just as an exercise in object design and inter-object coordination. It may well be the only game of its kind that runs on really any PC, a color display is nice, but not required.
