Crimefighter
The main goal of this game is to commit as many crimes as
possible, become rich and achieve the title crime lord. You can
pick pockets in the subway station, crack safes, hire gangsters,
equip them with better weapons, have them trained, kidnap children
from the playground (careful: the grannies there sometimes have
machine guns), and much more.
Crimefighter, a turn-based game, combines elements of many
genres, and has some additional minigames: If you have to run
away from the police, you do so in an arcade sequence reminiscent
of Pac-Man. If you want to rob a mail train, you have to push
containers on the rails in a Sokoban-style puzzle.
Crimefighter goes back to 1993 and was originally shareware.
Peter Steffen developed it up to version 1.53 in 2002, then he
released it as freeware and started working on a DirectX version.
If you play it in DOSBox, be sure to set the display to a 4:3
ratio, or the graphics will look rather strange. You can play
Crimefighter in English or German.
