Ark…

Scott Demers was disappointed with the official PC version of Arkanoid, so he wrote his own. For copyright reasons he did not make it an exact clone, but it has 33 levels and outstanding graphics. Levels are in simple, well documented text format so you can create your own. A nifty feature is the demo, which plays the whole game by itself. The screenshot collection linked below owes its existence to this feature.

Unfortunately, while the graphics are excellent, there are a few issues with the performance of the program. It depends very much on CPU speed, in DOSBox I had to crank down CPU cycles heavily to make it playable.
