Arcy 2
In gameplay, Arcy 2 is similar to Chip's Challenge and the Eggerland
series. Technically, it is done better than many other shareware games.
You may like or dislike the cartoony title screen, technically it's
very well done. The in-game graphics are more of a mixed bunch, you'll
find lots of pillow shading on the tiles, while the textures used for
the menus and the border around the playing field are quite good. It's
interesting, by the way, that they sport a rusted metal theme that was
not all too common at the time but would become all the rage a few
years later.
The predictable question is, if this is Arcy 2, was there ever an
Arcy 1? Frankly, I have no idea. Maybe there was, and it has been
lost, maybe it was never published, maybe it will turn up some day.
Arcy 2 itself is a trilogy, the first part is the shareware, you get
the other two if you register, though I doubt that this is possible
any more.
Note: Music is 8-bit Soundblaster and may cause problems
on a Soundblaster 16.
