Alphaman

One of the more popular roguelike games, Alphaman features a post-apocalyptic setting and elaborate graphics making good use of colors and the extended IBM character set.

Like most character-based DOS games, Alphaman can run under Windows in a command prompt window. If you prefer to play it in DOSBox, you might consider a CGA setting, compare the screenshots linked below.

A fun little cheat: If you name your character Jeffrey Olson, you start with excellent stats and equipment.
