Attacks
Attacks may have cost Scott Biggs a relationship; it brought him his
first job as a programmer, at Origin systems, where he wrote the install
program for Strike Commander, and worked on the add-on Tactical
Operations.
Attacks is a rather simple game. There is no title or menu screen, all
options are accessed through standard menus by left-click. Stones are
placed by drag-and-drop. Stone graphics are a bit grainy, but do the job.
There is no animation when they change color.
There are five difficulty setting, default is the middle one, which
proved to be quite beatable. The easiest one is called "Tries to lose".
This makes Attacks, like the Windows game
Attaxx,
a good program to get acquainted with the concept and strategies. Most
others just overwhelm an inexperienced player.
